Here is a quick summary of our travels in 2018.

Photos of a mini vacation to Costa Rica to visit our friends Luis & Mercedes. Luis had a full agenda waiting for us. We spent my birthday in Jaco, at the beach. Beautiful. Then we went to the farmers market in Grecia, where we met Luis cousin Marcos. On Sunday we went to Cartago and did some beautiful sightseeing. Monday we rested at La Garita and did a BBQ. We had a great time.

We celebrated my retirement by sailing from Florida to Barcelona on the MS Oosterdam. This first album starts on April 2 in Fort Lauderdale and ends on April 15 in Huelva.

This album will cover days 14-16, passing the Strait of Gibraltar on the early morning hours of April 16, spending the day in Malaga, Cartagena on April 17, arriving in Barcelona on April 18. We stayed a week in Barcelona, then drove to Zaragoza where we stayed 3 days. We ended our vacation in Madrid and returned home on May 3.

Our cruise arrived in Barcelona Wednesday morning April 18. We stayed in Hostal Athenas, which is in a little town called Sant Adria de Bezos. In our 7 days in Barcelona, we visited Las Ramblas, Mont Juic, Font Magica, Joa Miro museum, Picasso museum, the Gothic Quarter, Parc de la Citadella and did hop On/Off Bus tours. Here are the photos.

On Wednesday 4/25, we rented a car and drove to Zaragoza. We initially attempted to reach Andorra, but sadly, we left Barcelona too late,. We only made it to Berga, where we stopped at a pharmacy to buy Miriam some medicine, as she was not feeling well, catching a cold. We arrived to our AirBnB exactily at our agreed meeting time of 6PM.

Sunday April 29th, we took an afternoon drive to Toledo. It was mostly raining and the old town was crowded. We drove around the city and was able to take some photos. Definitely have to go back and stay a couple of nights in town.

On Tuesday May 1st, we drove to the town of Avila, which is famous for the mediaval wall surrounding the city. It was beautiful. Then we headed to Segovia for dinner, and a spectacular evening, before driving back to Madrid.

Our Spain vacation ended in Madrid. The city I lived for a year back in 1970. How much it has changed. It has expanded and grownlike wild weeds. El Retiro is a favorite park to do a leisure walk on Sundays. The Meninas, are all over town and can be seen in every corner. Cannot wait to go back!
